Peel - Bond - Walk
APPROVED
PRODUCT

The Guardian Tactile Peel & Bond system has has become so popular for internal and external installations that there is now cheap knock off / direct copies or the Guardian tactile system available.
These inferior quality versions WILL fail and in some instances become a trip hazard which will look unsightly and coluld  leave the owner / installer up for litigation.

Here are some questions to ask before purchasing Peel & Bond tactiles.

Where are these tiles made?
These copy tiles are made in China .

Guardian Tactiles are made here in Australia.

What are the tactiles made of:
Some copy tiles available are made from PVC which is a very cheap plastic, these tiles are chemically unstable outside, slippery to walk on and can shrink and curl even when used for internal installations.
Other copy tiles are made from poor quality Polyurethane Polymer in China, they are UV unstable and the base product is sourced from unknown suppliers so its composition and properties cannot be verified.
There are also Rubber Tactiles are only suitable for internal installations as they are UV unstable, crack, peel and delaminate.
The glue adhesive used to stick these tiles down is dangerous and carcinogenic.

Guardian Tactiles are made from premium quality German Bayer high-tech polyurethane..... Certified

Warranty:
Ask what sort of warranty do copy Tactiles have? Does the warranty cover external and or internal installations? Also make sure the warranty covers tile discolouration due to UV, cracking, delamination and failure of the butyl rubber adhesive.

Guardian Tactiles carry a 10 year warranty against discolouration ,cracking and delamination

Suitability:
Ask if these tiles suitable for external and or internal installations and what substrates can they be installed to?

Guardian Tactiles are suitable for both internal and external to all substrates, asphalt, concrete, timber etc.

Anti slip properties and approvals:
Make sure the tactiles you are buying have a CSIRO verified slip rating and the certificate applies to that exact tactile, and not some other tile in their range.
The CSIRO slip rating certificate will also prove if these Tactiles meet Australian Standards.
Also ask to see their VicRoads approval.

Guardian Tactiles have a CSIRO verified certificate which states they have a
slip resistance of R12 which is greater than the Australian standards.
Guardian Tactiles also have a Vicroads approval which allows them to be installed on Victorian roadways.

Backing adhesive quality:
The copy tiles use a cheap Chinese butyl rubber adhesive backing with a low tac.

Guardian Tactiles use a high quality cross linked butyl which Guardian Tactiles exclusively import from Japan.

Where are the Tactiles made? and what are they made of?
Copy tiles are made in China by unknown companies using unknown compounds, some of these copy tiles use a low grade Polyurethane and PVC which is chemically unstable when used  outside, slippery to walk on, can shrink and curl.

Guardian Tactiles are made here in Australia using high quality verified compounds

Are these copy tiles suitable for external Installations?
Copy tile distributors like to promote a direct stick to all substrates. Their tile does not work due to their inferior cheap low stick butyl adhesive.
After a short time these tiles will lift and peel.

Guardian Tactiles use a special primer that locks into the substrate surface and the tiles butyl backing ensuring a one piece bond.

So if you want a product that will stay stuck, designed and produced in Australia since 2003, with the highest quality compounds looks  good and is long lasting
insist on the original Guardian Tactile................not a copy
